About Hips Social
Hips Social is a family-run coffee shop and eatery within Lydney, in the Forest of Dean.
Here you will find carefully sourced coffee crafted by our trained baristas, a counter full of homemade cakes and doughnuts, as well as breakfast and lunch menus that focus on using local seasonal produce.
Alongside good food and good company, the Hips team also produces a wide range of online content too, covering all things on the coffee scene, from guides on how to make the ultimate cappuccino to reviews on the latest kit and tech driving the industry forward.
We care about good food, great coffee, and better relationships.
Love, Tom, Lucy, and the Hips team x

While we don't provide delivery services, you can always call and arrange for a takeaway order to be made for collection. Or why not book a table to guarantee a slot?

We currently use a proprietary blend roasted by the coffee geniuses (genii?) at Studio Coffee Roasters in Worcester.
We use a Brazilian/Ethiopian mix roasted to a medium degree, providing a phenomenally well-balanced espresso. This forms the base of all of our in-house coffee drinks.
Studio also provides us with our decaf option as well, in the form of a beautifully smooth, chocolatey Columbian option.
Yep, you can buy our Hips Social blend in either 250g or 1KG bags.
At Hips Social, we also regularly have a guest coffee in, from all manner of coffee roasters from across the country, often available for purchase as well.
We do! We have our own little coffee truck called Hips Kerbside (affectionally called Kirby by the team). We can provide coffee and cake for your events.

Absolutely! Throughout the year, our crack team of baristas runs specialist evening training courses, covering everything from the origins of coffee to pulling espresso and even pouring latte art as well.
Yep, that's right, coffee shop meets review website. A number on the team moonlight as journalists and felt that the coffee industry needed another voice in the mix when it came to top-quality coffee gear reviews.
Unlike other sites, we're coffee first and foremost, above all else. Working in a busy coffee shop gives us an awesome opportunity to put the very best coffee kit to the test. If you know it can hold up at Hips, you know it'll do well in your kitchen too.
